The Manufacturing Process Of Titanium Reducers
Medium frequency hot spin flaring (suitable for small and medium-sized diameters)
Process Steps:
Blanking: Seamless titanium tube or plate cutting, using horizontal band sawing machine, and burr removal and surface cleaning heat treatment: heating to 680°C in a vacuum furnace, holding time calculated according to wall thickness (5min/mm), eliminating work hardening.
Hot Spin Flaring: heated to 900°C by medium frequency induction, and rotated at a propulsion speed of 2-6mm/s under argon protection to ensure uniform wall thickness and avoid inner wall wrinkles.
Cold Shrinkage Sizing: The large end of the reducer is radially extruded through the die roller, and the size of the straight pipe section is adjusted to improve the accuracy.
Thermoforming (for large diameters or complex structures)
Process Steps:
Plate Stamping: The titanium plate is stamped into a U-shape and then stamped into an O-shape for the second time, and the seams are welded.
Welding And Inspection: inert gas shielded welding is adopted, and coloring flaw detection and radiographic testing are carried out to ensure the quality of the weld.
Surface Treatment: pickling to remove oxide scale (nitric acid + hydrofluoric acid mixture), electrolytic polishing or sandblasting to improve the finish.
Cold Push Molding (Special Scenes)
Applicable Scenario: DN≤100 small-diameter seamless reducer is directly formed by cold pushing mold, and the work hardening effect needs to be controlled.
Key Technology And Quality Control
Anti-oxidation And Hydrogen Removal: The whole process of argon protection (purity ≥ 99.99%), and hydrogen removal in a 560°C vacuum furnace for 2 hours to avoid hydrogen embrittlement.
Dimensional Control: special flaring tooling (conical working part with rolling sleeve) and sizing system (three-roller die extrusion) are used to ensure dimensional accuracy.
Surface Treatment: passivation treatment after pickling, surface roughness Ra≤0.8μm, to meet the needs of sanitary grade.

1. Chemical Industry And Oil And Gas
Application Scenario: Conveying strong corrosive media (such as hydrochloric acid, hydrogen sulfide) for refinery reactor and chemical plant pipeline connection.
Process Adaptation: hot spin flaring molding or welding process, the material is TA10 (resistant to hydrochloric acid corrosion).
Typical Case: A chemical plant uses TA10 titanium reducer instead of stainless steel, and the service life is extended from 2 years to 10 years.
2. Marine Engineering And Ships
Application Scenarios: seawater desalination systems, ship cooling pipelines, and water pipelines for offshore platforms.
Performance Advantages: chloride ion corrosion resistance, low density (4.51g/cm³), reduced system weight.
Process Requirements: electrolytic polishing of the surface to avoid biological attachment and reduce maintenance costs.

Application Scenarios: cooling circuits of nuclear power plants, desulfurization systems of coal-fired power plants, and hydraulic pipelines for wind power.
Material Selection: TA2 pure titanium or TC4 titanium alloy (high temperature resistance to 600°C), using hot extrusion process.

Technical Requirements: weld-free cold extrusion forming, mirror polishing (Ra≤0.4μm), in line with FDA sanitary standards.

Application Scenario: corrosion-resistant pipes and environmental protection equipment connections in sewage treatment plants.
Advantages: acid and alkali corrosion resistance, no precipitation of harmful substances, suitable for medium with pH value of 2-12.
